You will work on a project from the Royal Geographical Society about ¿Building coastal resilience one sediment grain at the time: field measurements and community engagement on nature-based solutions for coastal protection¿. This project will develop knowledge on the capability of UK salt marshes and sand dunes to withstand climate change and on their potential as nature-based solutions for coastal protection by: i) Collecting field measurements about their capability to accrete and expand thanks to sediment trapping and ii) Investigating about community¿s perception on nature-based solutions with respect to hard engineering and increasing coastal literacy through public engagement. The project will include daily field campaigns for topographic data and sediment samples collection as well as the organisation of community engagement events and online surveying. You should have a degree in Environmental Sciences, Physical Geography or a related field. The post is available until 31 May 2022.
