This role reports into the Treasury Section Manager. This role will ensure that payments entering and leaving the business are accounted for accurately and securely. The role is also responsible for ensuring that all Treasury deals are transacted accurately and in accordance with good governance and in line with Honda Finance Europe’s (HFE) Treasury policy.
The candidate will be expected to support the Treasury Section Manager as required.
Processing and banking of cheques received, checking the validity of all cheques, logging and recording of cheques, and arranging the transfer of the cheques to the bank for processing.
Management of all company receipts into Honda Finance Europe’s bank accounts via the payment allocation process. This includes Vehicle disposal (auction) receipts and Collection Agency receipts.
Managing all receipts into the retail bank account and working closely with the Customer Services team to ensure all payments are allocated accurately and in a timely manner.
Management of direct debit and cheque rejections.
Resolving payment queries and customer queries by working closely with the New Business/Customer Services/Collections & Recoveries and Wholesale teams.
Preparing the daily cash management requirements, obtaining the appropriate authority to take the daily funding, and working closely with the Treasury Section manager to ensure all funding is taken in line with the Honda Finance Europe (HFE) Funding Plan.
Monitor daily cash flow forecasting to identify borrowing requirements.
Creation of all Treasury deals into the Treasury Management System and managing the documentation for loan/deposit/swap confirmation matching processes.
Management of the Interest Rate Swaps including resets.
Input of daily payments into the online banking system.
General administration duties including filing.
Additional ad hoc tasks.
Provide cover for the Treasury Analyst.
Qualifications, skills and experience: Required/Desirable
Undergraduate looking for a placement in their third year of study
A high level of accuracy with a particular focus on attention to detail
Organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
Good communications skills and the ability to work alongside other departments to resolve payment related queries
A desire to understand a treasury function.
