Volvo Group Operations Graduate Program 

If you are up for the challenge of developing the next generation of production plants or supply chain for manufacturing or service market and want to be a part of the innovative world of Volvo Group, this is the graduate program for you!

During 15 intense and exciting months, the program will give you a holistic view of the Volvo Group’s global truck manufacturing organization. You will get to know our different brands and their plants and learn about our logistics organizations and activities. You will take a deep dive into some specific areas of our business such as manufacturing, health and safety, quality, and continuous improvements, while also learning about the end-to-end supply chain, aftermarket parts, and our remanufacturing operations.

In parallel, you will grow as a person, through individual and team development sessions. You will have a permanent position from day one, with a manager and mentor to support you. You will have the opportunity for several “on-the-job” rotations and experience working on real project assignments. In addition, you will join a number of learning modules where you get together with other program participants to take part in training and events designed to help you grow into your future career at the Volvo Group.

Position – Transport Sustainability Facilitator – Operations Graduate Program – (F/M)

Service Market Logistics (SML) is part of Group Trucks Operations. We are an organization of approximately 3,700 employees globally in more than 40 locations. Every day, we are delivering world class operational excellence for our customers, based on smart logistics solutions. Our job is to develop, manage and optimize the Service Market supply chain (spare parts distribution) for all Volvo Group brands and JV’s. The scope for Service Market Logistics includes Flow Optimization, Inventory Management, Distribution Center operations, Customs & Trade as well as the development of logistics solutions to ensure the highest possible parts availability, delivery precision and quality everywhere in the world. This is us, your new team: 

SML Lyon RMEA (Service Market Logistics Lyon Russia Middle East Africa) Transport team manages outbound flows from Distribution Centers to worldwide dealers. Sustainability and CO2 emissions is a rising concern. Our team is actively contributing to Volvo’s journey for a World-class sustainable transport system. We are in a continuous dynamic to challenge our carrier’s performance and reduce our costs and CO2 emissions. 

We are a young team, motivated by the complexity and the challenges of our transport network. We are willing to remove the boundaries and revamp established processes. Continuous improvement is the backbone of our work. Our manager places the individual at the center, promotes development and secure a working climate where trust and customer focus are strong foundations.

Job Description: 

The Transport Sustainability Facilitator is the go-to person for any topic related to CO2 emissions from our transport system. You will grow into the position and be introduced to broader and broader working tasks. You will develop your own knowledge from research and networking, launch initiatives to raise awareness of the key drivers to reduce CO2 emissions, then also train and coach… 

Your creativity and open-mindedness will be useful to support the construction of our roadmap to ensure 30% CO2 emissions reductions by 2025. From all our transport data, you will develop tools for a better accuracy of our measurements and identify priorities. You will lead investigations and drive cross-functional projects to optimize our transport network.

Required knowledge/experience

  • A BSc or MSc in Engineering or Business School
  • Maximum two years of previous working experience, prior to or after graduation.
  • As this is a truly global program, most of your meetings and emails will be in English, hence you need to be fluent in both speaking and writing in English. 
  • Valid work-permit for applied country if not citizen.
  • You have a passion for developing people, operations and product and are a communicative team player that values the full diversity of the team.
  • You have some interest working in Supply Chain and have already led some successful missions in this area
  • A previous experience in Data management is an asset
