The University of Liverpool is looking for a Technical Security Analyst to join our Technical Security team within IT Services. This is an exciting opportunity for the correct candidate to make a real impact in the overall security of the University¿s network and systems. You will work with market leading security tools across a diverse selection of networked services. The Role ¿ We are looking for an experienced Technical Security Analyst (Cyber Security Analyst) to help drive forward the security of the University network and systems. ¿ The successful candidate will have a strong background in SIEM, developing use cases to identify attacks and anomalies against the network and services. ¿ Have the ability and passion to work on a large complex network of systems which providing services to the business functions, academic teaching and research. ¿ Must be able to work with minimal supervision on multiple projects as a subject matter expert and provide solutions that meet the requirements of the University. ¿ Mentor others within the team to spread knowledge and be receptive to learning new tools and keeping abreast of current security practices. ¿ The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the other security tools such as Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Antimalware, Vulnerability Scanning, Email Security etc. ¿ Create security controls that protect the devices and services that staff and students¿ access. ¿ Improve SIEM, through clear use cases and assisting with data ingesting as new systems or data sources are needed. ¿ Assist in writing IT Security Policy.
