Part Time: 18.5 hours per week

You will use data to identify students at risk of withdrawal, disengagement or academic failure, contact them using a combination of tools available and then work with these students to identify factors affecting their engagement and achievement. You will focus on specific programmes across the Faculty to foster a sense of belonging to the University/subject community, delivering interventions to facilitate student engagement and success, supporting the Programme and Faculty level interventions required to improve results. You will signpost students to University support teams where required working flexibly to cover peaks and troughs in workloads.
You will have studied a taught undergraduate programme with the University of Northampton so will have demonstrable knowledge of the support systems, processes and community. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, have experience of mentoring / supporting someone, working on your own initiative and as part of a wider team. You must be flexible in your approach to working hours as there will be varied busy and quiet periods throughout the year, however these will be agreed with you.
The Faculty of Business and Law is the largest in the University of Northampton with around 200 academic staff and 5600 students. Led by a Dean, Deputy Dean and Associate Dean, we offer a broad portfolio of programmes at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. We also maintain a number of successful academic partnerships in the UK and internationally through which several of our programmes are delivered.
An ambitious plan to replace the majority of our existing programme portfolio over the next 2-4 years whilst developing programmes in new and innovative disciplines offers an exciting opportunity for individuals that share our ambitions to make a direct contribution to our continuing success.
