Student Recruitment – Assistant Manager (9 Months FTC)

*** The location of this role is flexible: Watford, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, Glasgow***

The Role

Responsible for recruitment for a particular capability and/or regions, the Assistant Manager role plays a key part in a team that is dedicated to ensuring the organisations student recruitment programmes have a strong profile at target universities/ schools and that its recruitment process is leading within its industry. The Assistant Manager will ensure that they and their team provide an efficient, high quality, client focused service for applicants and the business alike, throughout the recruitment process across a range of student programmes – from work experience and apprenticeships through to graduate roles.

Operations:

*Build effective and long term links within the Student Recruitment management team and with the business/programme leads
*Monitor and oversee effective and efficient management of candidate pipelines assigned capability and/or regions to ensure that quality standards are met and consistently delivered
*Review and monitor pipeline performance and work with Officers to agree relevant actions and predict outcomes in order to meet target numbers
*Provide regular and robust MI and reporting
*Liaise with Senior Manager to ensure all business stakeholders are kept informed of recruitment numbers.
*Manage Virtual Launch Pad/ Assessment Centre events for relevant candidate pipelines
*Management of offer process post Virtual Launch Pad/ Assessment Centre events
*Effective resource allocation within the team

Attraction and Outreach:

*Support in the planning and review and oversee the delivery of activity throughout the year in target universities/ schools to ensure we meet our outreach aims (with particular focus on diversity)
*Ensure regular and robust monitoring and reporting is in place for all activity. This will include measuring ROI through application conversions and feedback from students, university/ school stakeholders and volunteers
*Support and develop team on effective outreach delivery
*Plan resource for graduate and schools’ events and ensure team are implementing as designed

Leadership

*Line management and development responsibility for Officer(s) and Coordinator(s) in direct team. This will also include working with Officers and Coordinators outside of direct team across the country to ensure the successful implementation of relevant recruitment projects nationally

The Person

*Substantial experience in the student recruitment marketplace with strong understanding of how to plan, develop and deliver outreach campaigns, selection and assessment processes
*Experience in line management
*Proven track record of developing strong relationships with key stakeholders
*Drive and commitment
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a confident presenter
*Strategic and analytical thinker
*Good IT skills including Excel, Power Point, databases and internet research
*Excellent organisation and time management skills with a keen eye for detail
*Flexibility to work within a fast paced and changing environment
*Forward thinking and proactive approach
*Self-motivated to work autonomously and also a good team player with the ability to adapt to change quickly and positively
