An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the University of Winchester Student Housing Team in a Housing Management role. The care and support of students is very important at the University and we are looking for someone with excellent customer service skills alongside a sound practical judgement and common-sense skillset, and a friendly and constructive approach to work to join our Student Housing Services Team.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of all on campus residences which include c.1700 bed spaces. The role is responsible for the management of best practice, welfare and discipline of student residents living in on campus residences, and working to promote a positive living environment for all in University accommodation. The role is responsible for the line management of 2 Housing Advisers, our Residential Assistants Team of 12 student staff together with casual student helpers recruited throughout the academic year, of which there can be up to 80 during Arrivals Weekend. The On Campus team is the first point of contact for on campus student residents, and must have excellent working relationships with other teams in the University, such as Wardens, Security, Maintenance, Campus Management and Student Support and Success to provide excellence in customer service and the student experience.

A client centred, flexible and efficient work ethic is required at all times.

You must have excellent customer service and verbal and written communication skills, excellent IT skills, and be able to demonstrate a logical, common sense and practical approach to work. You will have some staff line management or supervisory experience. You will have a good understanding of best practice and legislation within the student accommodation sector, alongside health and safety within an accommodation context. You will be firm but fair and a team player who is able to perform at your best in a busy and sometimes pressurised environment, whilst able to act with sensitivity, discretion and integrity. Knowledge of higher education would be advantageous.
