The role of the Student Experience Manager is to manage and continually review student support provision for students within the College of Business and Social Sciences encompassing Aston Business School, Aston Law School and the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. By reviewing and analysing current provision from within each School and in conjunction with other Colleges and central departments, the post holder will make suggested improvements for the College and work to implement them. This will include working with the UG and PG Programme Managers to set delivery of service standards, development and implementation of new initiatives to improve customer service and enhancement of the student experience.

This role, will report both to the UG and PG Programme Managers and will have a dotted line to the AD Student Experience. It will include managing the day-to-day running, organisation and delivery of the student facing support processes within BSS. The role holder will also work with the Associate Deans UG and PG on specific projects where necessary. A substantial part of the role will be overseeing the BSS SOLVE provision (Service Management System), its development, process improvement and integration within the College Office.

The successful candidate will have significant experience of working in the Higher Education sector and supporting students from several cultural backgrounds. They will be experienced in leading teams and individuals, representing the College at wider University groups and reviewing processes with a view to implementing solutions that will improve services and lead to an improved student experience. It is expected that the successful candidate will be educated to A level or equivalent and will have a proven track record working with and developing a Service Management System (e.g. SOLVE). Excellent written and verbal skills, organizational skills, collaborative working skills and an ability to analyse problems and use judgment to propose solutions are also a requirement.
