Salary: £22,254 to £23,487 per annum (with progression to £25,627)

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual in the role of Student Engagement Coordinator. The role will involve implementing and promoting our student engagement polices and schemes and undertaking learning and teaching related administrative tasks within the unit. The successful candidate will possess the qualities needed to support and empower students, including excellent presentation, organisation, and communication skills. The post is permanent and full time.

1. To implement, support, promote and enhance student engagement activities e.g., peer mentoring, Student Staff Committee, peer assisted study support, graduate mentoring, student partnership projects etc.
2. To support the Lecturer in Student Engagement, and to facilitate the work of the Student Engagement Steering Group to meet the unit’s strategic aims and objectives in this area.
3. To develop and deliver training for students in specific student engagement roles.
4. To gather and analyse evaluative evidence on the student experience and the effectiveness of practice.
5. To contribute to research projects related to student engagement and to supervise undergraduate interns.
6. To disseminate good practice in student engagement across the University and externally.
7. To assist in organising and delivering student recruitment and induction events and activities.
8. To be responsible for processing financial transactions in the unit (in compliance with the University’s financial regulations).
9. To be responsible for a number of administrative processes on a complex multidisciplinary degree programme e.g., approving module registrations, determining degree titles, survey management, and attendance monitoring.
10. To undertake other administrative support processes including reception cover and the processing of PEC (Personal Extenuating Circumstances), and to contribute to the effective and efficient running of the office through a team approach.
11. To assist the Learning & Teaching Assistant when required e.g., responding to enquiries from students, maintaining student data, and the circulation of Student Support Plans.
12. To maintain academic standards and freedom, and work in accordance with University polices (e.g., equal opportunities, health and safety etc).
13. To undertake training to develop the role; and to undertake other duties (commensurate with the grade) as required.
