Whilst undertaking training, Agenda for Change Annex 21 will be implemented

(over 4 yrs, a percentage of pay band 5 maximum is applied) rising annually subject to completion of specified targets

On successful completion of training, the post holder will automatically take up a substantive full-time ( 37.5 hrs / week ) Band 5 post

We currently have opportunities for candidates to train for a career in Audiology and gain a BSc Hons in Clinical Physiology.

The successful post holders will have the benefits of a salaried post whilst undergoing training in performing a variety of investigations of the hearing & balance systems and the rehabilitation of the deaf & hard of hearing patients of all ages across NHS Tayside.

The BSc Course is 4 years offered as a part-time format and the successful candidates will attend Glasgow Caledonian University. All educational and accommodation costs will be met by the Service.

You will need a minimum of 3 Highers (or equivalent) in Science subjects (one of which may be maths), and an aptitude to work with people of all ages. Communication skills are essential for this post.

Your performance must comply with the national “Mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers 2009” and with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers.

Hours of work are: 37.5 per week
