Academic Services is within the Directorate of Student and Academic Services is responsible for a range of activities relating to academic administration and governance. The team manages a range of student processes, including registration, timetabling, assessment, academic appeals, academic progression and awards. Academic Services supports Academic Quality and Standards Committee, the Academic Leadership Group as well as School Academic Committees and Assessment Boards, and handles student discipline and complaints for the University.

The University now seeks to appoint a Student Administration Officer

Reporting to the Student Administration Manager , you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the undergraduate and taught postgraduate student record and associated processes. You will also work closely with staff responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the postgraduate research student record. Additionally, you will provide support for a variety of University committees, panels and task groups related to student administration. You will work closely with other teams within the Directorate and wider University to ensure that a quality service is provided, and you will also have opportunities to further enhance the administrative effectiveness and efficiency of our processes.

The role requires good organisational and planning skills, plus good speaking and listening skills. You will be communicating with students, plus staff in a variety of roles across the University, and also working closely with contacts from external organisations.
