We’re looking for an experienced individual to scope, design and lead the operational and project management of a range of our outreach activities. This role is based within the Public Services & Outreach team.

The Public Services and Outreach team is the main Parliamentary Archives point of contact for the public and provides services to researchers including running a search room, answering enquiries, and providing copies. We also promote the archives and the history of Parliament through activities such as community outreach partnerships, social media work and exhibitions and displays.

The Role

Working within the Public Services & Outreach Team and reporting to the Head of Public Services & Outreach, you will scope, design and lead the operational and project management of a range of outreach activities designed to engage adults, young adults and children with the archives, history and work of Parliament.

The Person

The successful candidate will have the following skills/experience:

  • Outreach Projects – Experience of successfully developing, working on and project managing archive-based outreach projects with adults, young people and children, of researching and interpreting archive materials for the public and of measuring activity impact.
  • Interpersonal Skills – Ability to build and maintain partnerships and relationships.
  • Research Skills – Good research skills including the ability to effectively interrogate online catalogues, understand complex historical events and related sensitivities and interpret them for general audiences.
