    Day one

    Begin Initial Naval Training at HMS Raleigh

    Professional training

    Complete your BSc in Diagnostic Radiography at Birmingham City University

    Year four

    Once qualified, join your first unit in Plymouth or Birmingham

    First promotion

    Promote to Leading Medical Technician on qualifying and complete Leading Rates Command Course

    Second promotion

    If you work hard, you can promote to Petty Officer and take on more responsibility

    What you’ll need

    Eligibility

  • You must be aged 17 and a half to 39
  • You’ll need 120 UCAS points from your A-Levels (or Scottish equivalent), including two non-overlapping subject areas; acceptable UCAS points can be accrued from A-level grades A*-D, or AS-level grade A
  • You’ll need at least 5 GCSEs at grades A-C (9-4) (or Scottish equivalent), which must include English and Mathematics at grade B/6 or above
  • You must be a British or Irish national, a , or a Dual National
  • A Body Mass Index (BMI) between 18 and 28 (between 17 and 27 if under 18)
