Psychology Graduate – Stockport
This mainstream secondary school, located within the Stockport area are currently looking for a psychology graduate to join an experienced SEN department and gain valuable experience, whilst shadowing a more experienced SENCO. You will be allocated separate groups of students with a variety of SEN needs, mainly focusing on Social emotional health. (SEMH).
This role will include working with students that have either developed SEMH needs since the return to schools (from several lockdowns). Alongside the need of extra support staff for the admission of year 7s. There is also the potential to work with SEN students with a variety of needs. This may be working with students that have ASC (autism) and ADD (attention deficit disorder). Therefore, experience or an understanding of multiple SEN needs would be desirable, but not essential.
The successful applicant will be assisting with small groups, focusing on students who have SEMH needs. Therefore, the experience and use of a psychology degree would be desirable for any successful applicant.
Main Aspects of the Job:
- Helping within the class tasks and the ability to multi task for any tasks needed in and around the school.
- Supporting the SEN department for monitoring behaviour in either 1:1 tutoring situations or the work for a group of students.
- Producing resources for those pupils in need of it, this can vary to multiple SEN needs, however SEMH needs will be the priority.
- Pay scale will be dependent on both the school and experience. (£325 – £475 weekly)
One of our partner schools is located in the Stockport area. These schools will be very accessible for both car drivers and those on public transport. With the M56 and the M60 running close by. The school is set in very pleasant surroundings boasting fantastic facilities within the local area.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
