Job Purpose and primary objectives:
Project Manager – Safe Net Device Upgrade Project
Key responsibilities :
•Have full accountability for project delivery including strong design, quality, change & risk management.
•Manage a team of people, ensuring appropriate resourcing is in place to deliver to required service levels/quality levels and ensure the setup of appropriate contracts for supply of IT products and services.
•Develop and maintain close relationships with key stakeholders for the projects.
•Perform compliance reviews against IAG Tech processes and products.
•Ensure projects adhere to the agreed design direction, including conformance to the architecture, design process and standards, with appropriate escalation of any design issues by maintaining knowledge of design principles in IAG Tech and an understanding of the projects design.
•Take full responsibility for entire project costings (one time and recurring costs) and timescales including those for hardware, software, infrastructure and support, as well as staff outside direct management control. Ensure all activity has the appropriate approvals authority.
•Prepare, review and maintain project plans in accordance with IAG Tech agreed standards and methods.
•Negotiate service levels and specifications with senior customers and suppliers.
•Manage day-to-day relationship with suppliers and ensure issues are identified early, improvement plans are actioned, and contract negotiations meet BA and IAG Tech technical, service and financial needs.
•Produce and maintain approved IAG Tech project artefacts including Solution Sketch, Statement of Works, Change Request, plans, requirements specification, business case documents, high level and low designs, test strategy and test specification documents, support documentation, risk issues and action logs, project status and steering group reports. The project manager shall either produce these artefacts themselves or manage the production by project team resources.
•Ensure the operability and maintenance elements of IAG Tech projects are addressed, establishing a strong relationship between delivery and support teams to ensure smooth transition through implementation and live running.
•Track record of delivering complex projects to agreed targets.
•Non-stop proactive management of the entire project performance and rapid intervention to remove blockers.
•Demonstrates project leadership and the ability to credibly influence the project team and stakeholders.
•Good understanding of the IAG Tech project lifecycle and can apply Prince 2 methodology.
•Strong experience of infrastructure supplier management and project team performance.
•Resilient and positive mindset to overcome challenges.
Provides effective risk, quality, financial, resource and design management.
