Why this role is important for CPI’s work
CPI’s Project Management team are providing an exciting opportunity for a student to gain experience supporting the management and delivery of projects within one of the five business unit sectors during a year placement. The placement will largely be a desk-based position offering hands on experience in the management and coordination of various project related activities ranging from project administration, effective financial management through to the management of project change control.
Duties of the role will include:
Supporting the management of project and resource plans helping to ensure project outputs are achieved on time and in budget
Supporting the project manager by coordinating project work, assigning tasks, controlling schedules, budgets and expenditure
Administration of project documentation throughout the project lifecycle
Build effective relationships with key stakeholders and using appropriate methods to communicate effectively
Supporting project compliance
Please note: the location of these roles can be fully office based or a combination of home working and office, we require a project management student for each CPI base which includes Darlington, Wilton, Newton Aycliffe, Sedgefield and Glasgow. The person we are seeking
We are looking to recruit a candidate who is currently working towards a degree or equivalent in a scientific field or business-related subject who are interested in moving into a project management role upon graduating. It is essential that applicants are organised, detail orientated, methodical and can work well with a range of different stakeholders in order to accurately collate, record and communicate a variety of data/project outputs. The candidate will be a strong team player who possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as good time management and the ability to prioritise workload effectively. Applicants should be competent in using computer packages such as Microsoft Office and Outlook.
