Volvo Group Operations Graduate Program  

If you are up for the challenge of developing the next generation of production plants or distribution centers and want to be a part of the innovative world of Volvo Group, this is the graduate program for you!

During 15 intense and exciting months, the program will give you a holistic view of the Volvo Group’s global truck manufacturing organization. You will get to know our different brands and their plants and learn about our logistics organizations and activities. You will take a deep dive into some specific areas of our business such as manufacturing, health and safety, quality, and continuous improvements, while also learning about the end-to-end supply chain, aftermarket parts, and our remanufacturing operations. You will be part of the transformation in our industry, working with new technologies and building the competencies for tomorrow.

In parallel, you will grow your interpersonal skills through individual and team development sessions. You will have a permanent position from day one, with a manager and mentor to support you. You will have the opportunity for several “on-the-job” rotations and experience working on real project assignments. In addition, you will join a number of learning modules where you get together with other program participants to take part in training and events designed to help you grow into your future career at the Volvo Group.

Position  – Operations Graduate Program – Service Center Digitalization Driver 

Our organization:  

Service Market Logistics (SML) is part of Group Trucks Operations. We are an organization of approximately 4,000 employees globally in more than 40 locations. Every day, we are delivering world-class operational excellence for our customers, based on smart logistics solutions. Our job is to develop, manage and optimize the Service Market supply chain for all Volvo Group brands. The scope for Service Market Logistics includes Flow Optimization, Inventory Management, Distribution Center operations, Customs & Trade as well as the development of logistics solutions to ensure the highest possible parts availability, delivery precision and quality everywhere in the world. This is us, your new team  

In our region we operate the Central Distribution Center in Gent and the Support Distribution Centers across Europe, the Supply Planning teams and the Service Centers. We have just started our lean journey and we are increasing our focus on what really matters for our customers. Our Service Centers are the glue between the dealer workshops and the SML organization. The Service Centers provide information about parts availability, expected delivery times and transport –and DC-deviations, to give only a couple of examples. Our work helps our dealers to keep their workshops going, and secures our customers’ trucks, buses, engines and machines uptime. You are part of a dynamic and multicultural organization, which is located across 3 countries.

Main activities and responsibilities :  

Our organization is on a journey towards digitalization, which will enable us to solve our customer’s spare parts logistics problems in totally different ways. This journey will transform the way we develop the competence of our co-workers, how we work internally and how we interface with our dealers across Europe. The aim of your role is to boost and accelerate this digitalization journey. You will analyze the processes and define the to-be way of working by exploring possibilities in IoT, data analysis and all kind of office automation technologies. You will be part of an international and fun team, where people enjoy working together informally, towards a common goal. You can expect a leadership team that is passionate about creating energy for continuous improvement and people development, with a high value for open, trustful dialogues and cross-functional collaboration. 

Who are you?  

You have a keen interest in technology, and you get energized having the opportunity to transform our processes by collaborating with your colleagues and our dealers. Maybe you don’t know everything yet about office automation, chatbots, Power BI or RPA’s, but you are a curious and fast learner with a positive mindset, who is eager to share knowledge and put theory into practice. You enjoy delivering results and having an impact. You don’t give up, you have an analytical and pragmatic can-do attitude.

Required knowledge/experience  

  • A BSc or MSc in Engineering, Economics, Computer Sciences, Management or Logistics 
  • Maximum two years of previous working experience, prior to or after graduation. 
  • Office automation skills such as process design, information analysis, Robotic Process Automation, python, data management or mobile applications design. 
  • You are passionate about lean and agile ways of working and you enjoy inspiring colleagues how digitalization can support the team’s success.
  • As this is a truly global program, most of your meetings and communication will be in English, hence you need to be fluent in both speaking and writing in English.
  • You have a passion for developing people, services and products and are a communicative team player that values the full diversity of the team.
