A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Mobile Student Veterinary Nurse to join our wonderful Watford region!
This role requires an experienced Year 2 or Year 3 SVN. You will be supported with a Clinical Coach from our Watford hospital or the nearest / most frequently visited clinic within the region. Salary and hours:
-Salary £16,725 – £22,961 per annum, depending on experience
-RCVS and VDS fees paid
-4 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays
-Hours are 43 with 1:6 weekends and a fair share of bank holiday cover with time off in lieu
-Minimal on call duties over the year (approx. 3 weeks to support our dedicated night team if required) enabling the development of your Emergency and Critical Care skills and experience.
-Assisting vets, qualified and student nurses with all aspects of their work
-Caring for animals, administering, simple medical treatments under instruction and supervision
-Setting up for surgery, x-rays and medical procedures
-Walking, cleaning and monitoring animals as well as caring for the clinical environment
-Many aspects of client communication, reception duties, taking payments, computer work
-Travel between local branches as required
-Expected to be undertaking formal training towards a veterinary nursing qualification
Skills and Experience
-Applicants must currently be a Student Veterinary Nurse, already enrolled in college
-Demonstrates empathy with patients and clients
-Ability to work in a team and under pressure
-Adaptable and friendly nature
-Exceptional communications, eager to build strong relationships with both colleagues and clients
-Good customer service experience
-Full driver’s licence is essential
This role will be based at our Watford hospital and support our Hertfordshire based practices within the region. As the rota will reflect the needs of the region e.g. you may be covering a couple of the practices for one week. This will be communicated accordingly.
