About the Croydon Digital Service

Digital capability and service redesign is critical to our renewal plans.

Established in 2019, the Croydon Digital Service (CDS) is one part of the council that has already transformed, replacing a traditional ICT department with a -style service to support the digital transformation of the council’s internal operations and online services for residents. We are a small and creative team that achieves a lot with a little. We continuously iterate our culture and processes to enable all team members to bring their whole selves and do their best work.

About the role

We are looking for a Licence and Asset Analyst to support the effective management, governance and controls of the council’s software and technology assets. They will manage all software assets and licencing for LBC ensuring compliance and value for money including developing, maintaining and updating a software asset and licence database. They will support 3rd party suppliers in the asset management of devices and hardware

Responsibilities 

  • Manage and develop robust software asset management regime
  • Support and develop the management of Council assets and devices
  • Liaising with service delivery partners to ensure leavers and starter process is working effectively, suggesting and implementing improvements
  • Ensure value for money and cost effective software licencing including procurement
  • Develop and implement robust governance and processes to ensure value for money
  • Monitor and manage licence and software agreements using tooling (Snow)
  • Ensure licence tooling data is accurate and maintained to avoid unnecessary software purchases
  • Support LBC in avoiding high costs associated with over-licencing and re-licencing
  • With support from Commissioning and Procurement Team, procure new software and licencing
  • Experience 

  • Some experience in a software asset management environment
  • A good track record of asset and device management including utilising several databases and directories
  • Experience of working with SNOW software management tool is preferred
  • Experience of working closely with 3rd party suppliers and experience of working with service users
