About the role

If you have a keen interest in new technology, like working with others and have strong interpersonal, communication and engagement skills, enjoy analysis and have a structured, problem-solving mindset, then we’re looking for you. During the 12-month Undergraduate Industrial Placement, you will be working in one of the teams who are responsible for building strong, collaborative relationships with IT’s customers in the wider business. In order to deliver a great service, you will also need to work with a varied range of people across the whole of IT, and our partner supplier organisations.

As part of a Business Partnering team you could be working in Project Management, Business Analysis or Business Consultancy. You could gain more than just experience. If you do well during your placement you might leave us with an offer to join our Graduate Development Programme after you successfully complete your Degree, leaving you free to concentrate on your studies in your final year.

What you’ll need

As one of our Undergraduates, you’ll have the chance to take command over your career and put into practice the skills you’ve been shaping at university whilst getting an insight into what being part of a dynamic, inspiring team is like at National Grid. You’ll need to be in your penultimate year and expecting to achieve a minimum 2.2 Degree classification in one of the following disciplines:
• IT/Computing related degree (preferred)
• ITMB (preferred)
• STEM related degree (acceptable)

You will receive a starting salary of £20,212 during your industrial placement as well as 25 days’ holiday and close mentoring and feedback to ensure you get the most out of your placement.
