To support our Electrical Distribution Systems business in the UK we have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Trainee supporting Projects and Tenders to experience and deliver the full Distribution Solutions Portfolio. Our Distribution Solutions business sells Medium and Low Voltage products and solutions into various market sectors including T&D, Renewables, Rail, Data Centers and Power Generation. This will be a great opportunity to contribute to these projects in a variety of functions whilst gaining experience with dealing with customers, factories, and other ABB Divisions.As a Graduate Trainee you will work within and gain a detailed understanding of ABB’s Electrical Distribution Systems Business in the UK. Reporting to the Product Marketing Director for ELDS you will be developed to support projects providing quotations and project support and handling specifications, costs and deliverables for Sales proposals. In addition you will make technical recommendations in various phases of customer projects to ensure delivery of project deliverables on time, within budget and in line with Quality and safety guidelines.

Your responsibilities

  • Sales and Tendering project involvement.
  • Assisting project managers and project lead engineers in technical reviews and discussions with customers, partners, subcontractors and vendors.
  • Delivering Tenders and Projects to a budget on time.
  • Assisting contract managers with claims, customer specifications and safety standards.
  • Creating and delivering the work plan and budget, as well as risk assessments relevant to your engineering discipline.
  • Helping customers resolve technical issues both remotely and at customer sites.
  • Liaising with factories over design and technical resolution.
  • Your background

  • You will be graduating or have graduated with a degree in an Electrical or Electronic Engineering or an engineering-based subject.
  • A high level of self-motivation, curiosity and desire to learn about new technologies.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organization skills with an ability to plan well and follow through to project completion.
  • Be flexible and prepared to travel to ABB and customer sites across the UK (driving licence essential).
