Graduate Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are looking for graduates to join our Graduate Teaching Internship commencing in September 2021.

What is the Future Teachers Programme?
The Graduate Teaching Internship is a scheme across England & Wales, designed to help address the current shortages of teachers, by attracting and supporting graduates who are consideration a career in teaching, but wish to gain paid school based experience prior to starting a teacher training course.

How does the programme work?
Graduates will be introduced to one of Teaching Personnel’s client schools located in Manchester and will work as a Teaching Assistant for up to one year. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will engage in a range of tasks to help you decide if teaching is the right career for you. You will be supporting students with their studies, focusing on your area of specialism providing classroom, small group and 1:1 support.

What are the benefits?
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant on our Graduate Teaching Internship, you will gain one years experience working in a local secondary school and will receive a weekly payment of up to £375 per week. The programme will provide you with the necessary experience required to embark on a Teacher Training programme and will help you decide if teaching is the right career for you.

Am I eligible to apply for the Future Teachers Programme?
To apply to our Graduate Teaching Internship, you must be educated to degree level or have completed your degree by September 2021. We welcome applications from graduates across all subject areas including: English, Maths, Science, Humanities and Languages.

All successful applicants must have a genuine desire in becoming a secondary teacher and must be able to commit to the programme on a full time basis.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
