The school seek to appoint a Graduate Teaching Assistant in order to provide support to the pupils within the school and to alleviate the classroom pressure of the main class teacher.
This full-time position is available for Graduates that wish to gain further experience within a secondary school setting in order to gain experience prior to applying for a teacher training course in the future.

The role of a Graduate Teaching Assistant within our client secondary will be a varied one which will consist of classroom support duties, pupil support (Tuition, Intervention or Mentoring.) and classroom cover. In return for this the school will offer you continuous support throughout your placement to ensure that you are as prepared as possible for a career in teaching and more importantly a teacher training course.
The school that wish to recruit for this role currently caters for just over 950 pupils with the vast majority of pupils coming from a white British background. There are an average amount of pupils who have Special Educational Needs and those who are considered disadvantaged.
It is located on the outskirts of Wigan town centre making it easily accessible from the surrounding areas of Ashton-in-Makerfield, Golborne and Tyldesley via the M6 motorway. There are also direct transport links from Wigan town centre.
