Group/Division

SPTS wafer processing solutions include market-leading silicon etch, dielectric etch, dry-release etch, PVD, PECVD and molecular vapor deposition (MVD®), available with a range of wafer-handling options applicable to R&D, pilot production, or volume production environments. SPTS is headquartered and has its main manufacturing facility in Newport, UK, with additional manufacturing in Allentown, Pennsylvania. SPTS operates across 19 countries in Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific, and offers comprehensive service and spare parts support through a worldwide network of service centers and qualified local agents.

Business Unit:

Working as part of the Software Engineering team, which is responsible for the development of substrate handling platforms and equipment control software solutions for the SPTS range of products, you’ll be engaged in the effective design and development for the control of complex semiconductor production equipment, providing software solutions and support for a global customer base.

Company Introduction:

Following the Company’s extensive onboarding and introduction program, you will join our Graduate Development program which includes: Technical Classroom training, Soft-skills training , Team building, Corporate responsibility activities and finally placement within our Platform department with our Software Engineering team.

You will then be welcomed into your Team and continue your development supported by your SPTS mentor!

Your day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Developing real-time process control software using C++ under Windows operating systems.
  • Testing software within a multi-disciplinary team across our full product range.
  • Supporting established in field products as well as new products still at development stage.
  • Producing the appropriate documentation to include specifications, test plans and release notes.
  • Providing software support and maintaining our existing software suite.

  • Able to work autonomously – whilst collaboration is important, you’ll work as an individual and use your own initiative when required
  • Interview Assessment for this role will be held mid September with a view to the successful candidate starting by 1st October.

    Your qualifications:

    Educated to degree level in a field containing a substantial element of Computer Science.

    Applicants must have a knowledge of C++
