About the role

MediaKind’s Global Supply & Order Management team play a huge part in our success, as they are responsible for delivering shipments and customer orders to our global customer base, on-time and to the highest standard. 

We are seeking a Graduate Shipping Analyst, who wants to start their career in a fast-paced, varied and technology-centric industry.

Reporting to the Director of Supply & Software Delivery, you will be based at our Southampton site you’ll be supporting all of our regions on shipping activities (imports / exports) of physical goods, but also the delivery of software. 

Compliance will be at the forefront of your mind, ensuring that all aspects of the shipping process are compliant, and that work is delivered to agreed delivery dates in agreement with the customer and internal projects teams.

Key tasks we’ll ask you to perform:

  • To raise shipping documentation via the SAP/S4 system for equipment ready to be exported by MediaKind to our customers worldwide.
  • Booking of shipments via Sea, Air, Courier and Road depending on size and destination ensuring the most efficient and complaint process is followed
  • Verify/check import instructions against MSS Reports
  • Receiving Imports in compliance with MK procedures
  • Support Project Managers in the delivery of their projects and keep them up to date with all shipping and logistics developments
  • Liaise and support Internal and External Customers and Freight Forwarders also to be able to track and trace shipments that are being Shipped (Imported) into the UK Warehouse or Shipped out (Exported) to customers
  • Support any demo requests with the packaging and shipment of the equipment
  • Continually develop and implement freight, shipping and logistics processes to build upon the culture of continuous improvement
  • Keep up to date of any new developments in import/export controls and embargo laws to ensure no risk or exposure to MediaKind due to lack of compliance
  • Checking of freight invoices and disputing/coding to relevant orders/cost centres
  • Reporting of Tax/GST figures paid in various entities to relevant Tax Team/Consultants in region
  • Maintaining complete traceability of all shipments, extracting historic shipping data/spend/lanes to create reports to management

    You’ll also be an excellent communicator both internally with our various teams and directly with the customer.

    Full training will be given on all aspects of the role and you’ll be closely mentored and supported by our experienced team in Southampton.

    Key skills/experience:

  • A relevant degree in Shipping, or a similar discipline
  • Strong computer skills. In addition, you’ll know MS Word and Excel
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across a wide set of multifunctional stakeholders spread across a number of geographical locations.
  • A willingness to take on new tasks, show initiative and be pro-active is a must.
  • An interest in technology, e.g. software, would be ideal
  • Flexible with working hours at month ends and quarter ends
