Graduate Research Technician – Assay Development – Cambridge
A pioneer of cutting-edge biotechnology products in Cambridge are looking for a graduate assay development technician to join their research team.
This is an excellent opportunity where you will be able to make a real difference with your work, developing products that aim to improve the patient’s life, taking therapeutics from inception all the way through to clinical trials.
In this role, you will be trusted to develop cell-based assays and support several screening programmes across the company’s portfolio. An understanding of phenotypic screening and ability to develop assays, learned throughout academia will be essential in this role.
Reporting directly to the CSO you will be afforded with the freedom and autonomy to make this role your own and will be provided with all the tools you need to be a success in this position.
The company’s target time to market is two to three years and they are well backed by their parent organisation. This means that you get all the benefits and fun of working in a fast-paced start-up, coupled with long-term security.
The company are also looking at new ways to implement microfluidic technology and machine learning algorithms to speed up processes and improve accuracy.
To be considered for this exciting role you will need to have the following;
- Experience with developing screening assays within an academic environment.
- Mammalian tissue culture experience/knowledge is vitally important in this role
- Addition experience with the automation of cell culture and screening would benefit your application.
The company are open-minded on this hire and place a lot of emphasis on the personality of the scientist and so will provide training if you are perhaps missing some of the experience needed for this role. You will be employed on a one-year fixed term contract initially with a view to extend and/or make permanent.
