MDA’s international footprint in the UK creates opportunities to work with some of the most exciting space industrial players in the country. Delivering all three business area capabilities in Geointelligence, Robotics & Space Operations, and Satellite Systems, our UK team provides support to our European-based customers while specializing in the development of advanced space sensors for exploration missions as well as space-based communication technology.   • Designing many-layer PCBs using ORCAD, primarily for analogue front-end systems for sensors but also digital and power electronics
  • Simulating circuits using SPICE model
  • Perform functional tests
  • Troubleshoot hardware for space missions
  • Preparing technical documentation
  • Required Skills:

  • University degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent
  • Good understanding of the principles of designing, manufacturing and testing electronics, preferably for the space environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of the effect of the space environment on component selection
  • Understanding of formal configuration control methods
  • Awareness of engineering standards (preferably ECSS)
  • Skills Considered An Asset:

  • Knowledge of ESA ECSS standards
  • Matlab, Python, or C++
  • Experience with optical sensors and lasers
  • High speed memory and interface controllers
  • General knowledge on microcontrollers and digital electronics
  • Control of imaging detectors (CMOS or similar)
  • Experience of working with lasers
