The Director of Student Influence is a senior manager and member of the SU Leadership Team. They lead our Student Voice, Evaluation & Research and Student Advice teams, and support our elected officers to succeed in leading evidence-informed representation and change campaigns for the benefit our student members. With a strategic priority being to focus even more on our academic representation, and another to improve students’ lives on campus and in the city of Nottingham, there is substantial scope for this role to accelerate our existing work and establish new work in our pursuit of better for students.

The Director of Student Influence is also our strategic lead for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and Chairs our EDI Working Group, driving our EDI work forwards so we better represent, support and involve under-represented and disadvantaged groups.

The successful candidate will be proficient in utilising multiple sources of evidence to inform priorities and activities to influence policy and practise at the University of Nottingham, the local area and in the wider student movement. They will be fully aligned with UoNSU’s values, and will respect, value and champion the role of student representatives in leading our democratic organisation.

The role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis (35 hours per week) and as an inclusive employer we would consider candidates looking to take this role at 0.8FTE (28 hours per week) or above. At full-time, your hours will usually be 35 a week but may vary to meet the needs of the role. To ensure we support your wellbeing, the Students’ Union has a Flexi Time System to give you flexibility around how you manage your working hours without the need to apply formally to change your contractual working pattern.

The role is evaluated at the UoNSU pay band F, with a salary range of £46,938 to £57,832. Salary progression is through the Annual Pay Award which is linked to you as an individual meeting the Union’s Good Performance standard.
