Dow is seeking New College Graduates with a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree for entry level Engineer opportunities in Operations. Jobs in Operations (Manufacturing, Maintenance, Engineering and Environmental) include a broad range of responsibilities in a variety of different work settings such as chemical plant safety and environmental performance, process operation, optimization, modification, maintenance, and technology implementation. Engineers must use sound technical judgment to enable safe and efficient plant operations. We combine world-class expertise, future-focused technologies, and sustainability to solve global issues. The majority of the positions are available in Prentiss (Red Deer), Alberta or Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta

Primary Responsibilities:

Chemical Engineer

(Key Roles: Production, Process, Process Automation, EH&S, or Improvement Engineer )

You will fill one of several technical resource roles where you will provide technical support to plant operating personnel in order to maintain the safe, reliable, and efficient operations. Key responsibilities may include such items as manufacturing process troubleshooting and problem solving, preventive maintenance, yield and process improvements, waste reduction, safety enhancements, process control, cost optimization, project management and implementation, equipment design, and new technology implementation.

Mechanical Engineer

(Key Roles: Production, Hardware Design, Maintenance/Reliability, or Improvement Engineer )

You will fill one of several technical resource roles where you will provide technical support to plant operating personnel in order to maintain the safe, reliable, and efficient operations. Key responsibilities may include providing technical expertise in areas such as maintenance & reliability as well as production operations and project engineering. Responsibilities may range from chemical plant operations, process improvements, predictive maintenance, failure analysis, and vessel & Piping design to manufacturing process troubleshooting and problem solving, preventive maintenance, yield and process improvements, waste reduction, safety enhancements, process control, cost optimization, project management and implementation, equipment design, and new technology implementation.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor or Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering

  • Must have a minimum overall cumulative 2.700 GPA (on a 4.000 scale) or equivalent on a 100% scale at your current Canadian based university

  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company support or sponsorship.

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • A preferred graduation date of no later than September 2022.

  • Enrolled in a “Engineers Canada” accredited program
